Best Orthodontic Technology in Pasadena
Greenberg Orthodontics & TMJ

High Tech Dental Office

Orthodontics is so much more than metal braces on a teenager. With advances in technology, and a deeper understanding of how the body works in synergy with itself, orthodontics can be used to treat a myriad of issues other than crooked teeth.

Dr. Vickie Greenberg works passionately to improve not just the smiles, but the lifestyles of her patients. She is a Diamond Status Invisalign provider, having completed thousands of Invisalign cases in her impressive 25 year career.

She specializes in TMJ and Jaw Pain, as well as Sleep Therapy, and she credits much of her success in these specialties to the superior technology she invested in for her practice.

Here is an overview of some of Dr. Greenbergs technology, and how she uses it in her orthodontics practice for issues other than straightening teeth.

Technology for TMJ and Jaw Pain

Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ) or Jaw Pain is one of those things that you don’t truly understand until you’ve experienced it yourself. It can be extremely painful, making it difficult to chew, swallow, or speak, and can decrease the quality of your life.

The i-Cat FLX, amazing imaging technology, can detect the issues that are causing your jaw pain more efficiently and accurately than older imaging technology ever could. The images are clear, precise, and extremely detailed. This makes it much easier for Dr. Greenberg to create a very specific and detailed treatment plan to eliminate your TMJ effectively, and for good.

Technology for Sleep Therapy and Sleep Apnea

Sleep Apnea is a condition marked by difficulties with breathing during sleep, and it is often diagnosed because of excessive snoring.  Snoring is joked about in comic strips and sitcoms, but it’s actually a serious condition that can be detrimental to one’s health.

Sleep Apnea is usually caused by an obstruction in the airway, making it difficult to breathe. When this happens during sleep, the patient will stop breathing altogether momentarily, sometimes as often as hundreds of times a night!

The patient may not be aware of this happening at the time, but will feel the results in the form of fatigue, inability to concentrate, irritability, and all the other things that can happen when you don’t get a good night’s sleep.

Dr. Greenberg specializes in sleep therapy, and she uses the Fotona Laser for many of her cases. It’s a laser gentle enough to use on the soft tissues of the mouth, and she can tighten the skin in the soft palate in order to reduce that constriction of the airway. It is safe, painless, and the results can last for up to a year.
